Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) carried out coordinated searches in six districts of Srinagar, Bandipora, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Baramulla on Wednesday in connection with an ongoing terror-related investigation, officials said.

According to officials, the searches were conducted at eight locations based on recent intelligence inputs, technical analysis, and continued investigation in a case registered in 2015. The case pertains to alleged activities of Pakistan-based terrorist outfits and their sleeper-cell networks operating in Jammu and Kashmir.

The officials said the suspects are believed to be involved in recruitment, radicalisation, and support activities for terrorism in the region. They are also suspected of being in contact with handlers based in Pakistan through encrypted communication platforms and of circulating extremist propaganda online.

The operation was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terror-linked networks and monitor radicalisation activities across the valley.
